2022 – Cover art for Scuderia Ferrari

Scuderia Ferrari welcomes back cover artist, Giuseppe Liotti!

ABOUT THE “ART OF FORMULA 1” SERIES

First published in 2017, this series is dedicated to Scuderia Ferrari’s F1 Grand Prix cover
art and the artists behind the work. It includes my interpretation of the cover, insights (did you know?) into a nugget of information about the grand prix location, some words from
Ferrari (track info. etc.), informational links to artist’s sites, and other Art of Formula 1
series works.

The track cannot harness the speed of Charles Leclerc as he jets off over the Med from his home circuit in Monaco. It’s a beautiful day in Monte Carlo with a clear view of Mont Ange in the background.

DID YOU KNOW?

Monaco has been ruled by the Grimaldi family for 725 years and will continue as long as there is a legitimate successor. The country is less than a square mile, has zero poverty and is the most densly populated country in the world. The average cost per square foot for a home is $5,466 USD with square footage on Avenue Princesse Grace costing approximately $17,750 (making it the most expensive street in the world). Out of a population of approximately 39,783 people, 32% are millionaires or more. The current life expectancy is 85 years for men and 89 years for women.

MEET THE ARTIST – GIUSEPPE LIOTTI

Giuseppe Liotti was born in Salerno in 1978. A self-taught artist, he began his career as a
storyboard artist for commercials and cinema, working with directors such as Emanuele
Crialese and Matteo Garrone.

He made his debut in the world of comics in 2007 winning, along with scriptwriter Benec,
the Prix Raymond Leblanc; it’s the first of many forays in the French-Belgian Bande Dessinée market.

From 2008 to 2012 he worked for Belgian publisher Le Lombard on the series “Les Fils de
la Louve” and the trilogy “Narcos”.

From 2013 to 2016 he worked for Sergio Bonelli Editore on Morgan Lost and Brendon. In
the same year he worked on the one-shot “Vin, Glorie et Bonté” for the French publisher
Glénat.

From 2017 he worked with the series “Compte à Rebours” for publisher Rue de
Sevres, while at the same time continuing his work as a storyboard artist for Italian and
international productions.

In 2019 he was awarded the “Pellicola d’Oro”, a technical prize by the Venice Film Festival,
as best Italian storyboard artist for the movie “Dogman”, by director Matteo Garrone.
